SolaceShow: April 2, 2018 with Paul and Kelly Kapsar

During this segment of SolaceShow, Paul and Kelly Kapsar discuss the impact of grief on the body, especially specific areas of the body. They suggested ways to help with it, including massage. Paul and Kelly provide personal and professional experiences which continue to aid them in supporting their current patients in grief. The topic of collective grief due to traumatic national events arose as well as how critical it is that the Second Shift (TM) receives support for their role as care givers during such times.

About the Kapsars and SilverKnot:

Starting at 2 months of age, Kelly has experienced loss through deaths, suicide and divorce. At 9, she was taught how to energetically clear and transform grief and anger. Kelly has spent a lifetime learning and working to heal herself, and now, for over 14 years, has professionally been helping others heal as well. She uses both hands-on and hands-free techniques. She is a Licensed Massage Therapist, Advanced level Upledger trained CranioSacral Therapist and a licensed spiritual practitioner.

Paul has been in healthcare for over 40 years. With a career spanning many areas of health care including emergency, trauma, and intensive care units he estimates being on approximately 2,500 cardiac arrests in the first 20 years of his career. While still an orderly at the age of 17 he overheard a surgeon tell the nursing staff no one was to tell the patient she had terminal breast cancer. He was appalled. This seminal incident guided much of his career and how he works with people “dying mindfully “. While in nursing school his “Issues in Nursing” group created and performed a play about brain death in the critically injured patient. He is Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, with specialities in addiction and “generalization.”

Together, one of the things they do best, is Care for the Caregivers.
